A shopkeeper was taken to hospital with a wound to his hand after a knifeman attempted to rob his store.
Police have released an image of a person they would like to trace as they investigate the incident in Winlaton, Gateshead, last month (August).
A Northumbria Police spokesperson said: “Just before 6.30pm on Thursday, August 17, an unknown offender entered Tynevale Stores, on Tynevale Avenue, in Winlaton, Gateshead.
“The offender then pulled out a knife and attacked the shopkeeper, causing a wound to his hand.
“The offender then made off from the scene.
“The victim was taken to hospital for treatment on the injury and was later discharged.”

Officers are investigating the incident and have today (Tuesday) released an image of a person they would like to trace.
They were in the area at the time the attempted robbery took place and may be able to help officers with their enquiries.
