It becomes the latest in a line of announcements about yuletide attractions returning to the North East this winter.
Last week it was confirmed that Newcastle’s outdoor Christmas Market will also make a comeback next month.
The Christmas Market will run from Saturday November 19 until Friday December 23 and has been extended on last year’s event with stalls running up Grainger Street, the top of Grey Street and Old Eldon Square.
