Northumbria Police are appealing for information after a man entered a North East shop and threatened staff with a hammer before stealing £600.
Officers received the report just before 6.30pm on December 22.
A man had entered Best One, on Bridge Road South, North Shields.
He threatened shop staff with a hammer to get them to hand over the cash in the till.
The culprit left the shop on a bike towards Howdon Road.
None of the shop staff were hurt during the incident.
A Northumbria Police spokesperson said: “Officers investigating a report of robbery at a shop in North Tyneside have released an image of a man they would like to speak to.
“Police received a report that just before 6.30pm yesterday (Friday, December 22) a man entered Best One, on Bridge Road South, North Shields.
“The man then threatened shop staff with a hammer to get them to hand over approximately £600 in cash from the till.
“The offender then left the scene on a bicycle in the direction of Howdon Road.
“Shop staff were left shaken but otherwise uninjured in the incident.
