Firefighters are tackling a blaze that has caused the closure of a busy North East road this evening.
Several appliances are on the scene of the fire off the A189, at Annitsford, near Cramlington, in Northumberand.
The origin of the fire is not known at this stage, though there have been reports it could be at an old skip yard.

Plumes of smoke have resulted in the closure of the A189 between A190 and A19.
Traffic problems have been reported as far as Dudley and Burradon
